What's next for GDTuber (An informal changelog)
GDTuber » Devlog
I wanted to make a post just to keep everyone up to date and let everyone know that GDTuber is very much alive and well. I worry the project may look dead considering how long it has been since our last release. There is, however, still activity happening over on GitHub, most of the recent contributions just happen to be "behind the scenes".
- Samurai336 contributed a big update to the wiki. The Setup Guide is now much more in-depth and up to date.
- I integrated Godot's localization system to allow contributors to translate GDTuber to other languages.
- We also did a little bit of cleanup to remove scripts, scenes, and hidden UI elements that are no longer being used.
Future plans
- I have been working on a fix for unexpected behaviors when using a controller. Godot's built-in controller support captures controller inputs even when GDTuber is in the background. This means buttons get pressed and settings unexpectedly changed when playing games via controller while GDTuber is running.
- My next goal is to create a GitHub action for automatically exporting release builds. Currently, when we do a release, I am exporting the release binaries on my computer then manually uploading the files to GitHub and Itch.io. Making this an automatic process will save time and remove potential human error.
Please don't be afraid to give feedback and report any bugs you find. As a community-driven project, the more voices we have, the better we can improve this program for everyone.
